Welcome To Rome High School

Rome High School ranks among the top high schools in Georgia. Rome High School offers students a comprehensive 9-12 grade education. Students have multiple courses to choose from including specialized Advanced Placement®, Dual Enrollment, and Career Technical and Agricultural Education (CTAE) course offerings. Rome High School has one of the highest AP® participation rates in the state. Rome High School has been recognized nationally by both US News and Niche as one of the best high schools in the United States for many years. Rome High School is ranked 60th out of 428 schools in Georgia. Rome High School has also been voted Best High School in Floyd County.

Rome High School is a diverse school with a ranking of #31 in Georgia. The school's diversity is divided into approximately 41% Hispanic, 31% African-American, and 21% Caucasian. More than 30 countries are represented at Rome High School. The school's diversity allows students to learn and work with students from many different cultural backgrounds, which better prepares them for the real world. 

In athletics, the Rome High Wolves compete in Region 5 - AAAAA. Rome High School offers many different athletic options for students enrolled at Rome High School. The school has captured state titles in football in 2016 and 2017. Rome High School Athletics ranked annually in the Director's Cup race competing with schools across the state.  This is the 10th year the Positive Athlete organization has named Regional Award Winners for the Northwest Georgia Region, where student-athletes representing 25 different boys’ and girls’ high school sports, two coaches, and Rome High School have been selected as the “Most Positive” in their categories. Positive Athlete’s Northwest GA Region consists of schools located in Catoosa, Chattooga, Dade, Floyd, Gilmer, Gordon, Haralson, Murray, Pickens, Polk, Walker, and Whitfield. In total, 23 different public and private high schools were represented among the winners for this year’s awards cycle.

The school offers students several opportunities in performing and fine arts. The school's Grand Finale Show Choir and Drama Productions sell out annually and are received warmly by the community. The Rome High School Marching Band ranks as one of the best bands in the southeastern United States winning multiple awards throughout several state competitions.

Rome High School opened in 1992 combining both East and West Rome High Schools. Rome High has a rich history that is continually growing throughout Rome High's bright future.
